Waiting for train in the early morning to head to destination
Time
in a
Day
By Claudia Lau
The best moment is when my sight meet the words in a book, it never failed to turn my worst day into the best day. I murmured how would life be without authors, it will most probably be like a winter without fire. Next minute, what would life be without people who loved or cared for me such as family, friends, or community. What if people only care about themselves? So, I reflected on a day in my life
In a busy daily life, rushing to finish breakfast and to the train station to university, work, or meeting places, as well as free time coupled with social life and leisure. It is habitual to spend time and think what to do next, what to eat next, and what to wear next to live a semi-good life. Sometimes, a second talking or greeting with people face to face comes along with impatience and minimal.
Then, I discovered The University of Western Australia partnered with WA Alliance to End Homelessness, presented Conservatorium of Music in the Perth CBD to create positive change on homelessness. According to Homelessness Australia, there are 105,237 homeless in Australia. More than 1000 musicians gathered and have a voice on homelessness through music to create awareness and transform homelessness in our society.
Hey readers, how much time do you offer for your neighbours?
Phil, is an ordinary man regularly sharing gospel in his bike with a sign labelled “Jesus Loves You” around Perth City. “I used to just see him riding the bike around, what I remember is if you have eye contact with him, he would smile and say Jesus loves you,” St Georges Anglican Grammar School’s student Winnie Zheng said. Phil offers his smile and time to the citizens, light up the heart of the darkness.
